Leon V. Lewis, MD

Dr. Lewis has been a practicing ophthalmologist for more than
30 years. Through his many years in practice, Dr. Lewis is recognized
as a skilled and respected diagnostician. Although he no longer
performs major surgical procedures, Dr. Lewis continues to focus
on medical ophthalmology, seeing as many as 85 patients each
week. He and his wife, Eleanor Lewis (ECVA’s orthopist),
have expanded ECVA’s pediatric practice, providing a full
range of eye care services for children.
Licensed in the
state of New York, Dr. Lewis is a graduate of Brooklyn College
and SUNY at Buffalo Medical School. He completed both his internship
and residency at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC). Dr. Lewis
also served in the United States Coast Guard.
Dr. Lewis is a member of the Erie County Medical Society; the
Medical Society of the State of New York; the American Academy
of Ophthalmology and the Buffalo Ophthalmic Club, where he served
as president. He has taught at SUNY at Buffalo and Erie Community
College, and has been a clinical instructor at ECMC and Deaconess
Hospital.
Dr. and Mrs. Lewis reside in Amherst and have four children and
seven grandchildren. Dr. Lewis currently sees patients at ECVA’s
Williamsville office. |
